The idea behind ARC
Every player’s development is shaped by the work they do, how they feel and the feedback they receive. ARC brings those pieces together over time, helping the player and the people supporting them understand their progress and what to focus on next.
What has the player been doing?
Training, matches, challenges and progress over time.
What does that mean for their next step?
The player’s goals, how they feel, and observations from their coach.
The record + the context
The coach plans three individual sessions to help a player improve their weaker foot.
A completion count shows an unfinished plan.
Context reveals focused effort
interrupted by a setback.
For the player
Their effort remains part of the story, even when the week doesn’t go to plan.
For the coach
The available information and a conversation with the player help inform whether the plan needs to change.
For the parent
Shared activity makes the player’s effort visible and gives them a starting point for asking how they can help.
“You put in the work.
Let’s understand what you need next.”
Illustrative example. Each person sees only information appropriate to their role. Logging an injury does not automatically share private health details with coaches or parents.

One observation. Connected support.
A shared team focus.
A useful next step for each person.
Our midfield was too stretched when we lost possession. At our next practice, we’ll work on recovering into supporting positions.
SET THE SHARED FOCUS
Capture the midfield’s recovery focus once. Use the observation to guide the next practice.
FIND YOUR NEXT STEP
As a midfielder, think about how quickly you recover into a position that supports the teammate challenging for the ball. Ask your coach where they want you positioned when possession changes.
SUPPORT THE CONVERSATION
Understand the team’s shared focus and ask: “What did you notice about supporting your teammates at practice?” Invite your athlete to share, and let them lead the conversation.
